PROJECTS

The Green Demonstration room is an educational room project located on the premises of the Center of Research and Development in Jounieh, whereby students from public and private schools from all the regions in Lebanon could visit and get acquainted with the concept of green buildings, the principles of energy efficiency, water conservation and other environmental issues. This Project is the result of three collaborating partners:

1.The Center of Research and Development.(affiliated to the Ministry of Education and High Education)

2.Makhzoumi Foundation “MF”

3.The Lebanon Green Building Council “LGBC”

Goal and Project Objectives:

The main goal of the project is to raise public awareness on the importance of energy efficiency, water conservation and pollution reduction through the introduction of the concepts of Green Buildings.

The objectives are to:

1.Establish a Green Demonstration Room and Renewable Energy devices for students.

2.Demonstrate the concept and principles of Green Buildings.

3.Developing awareness on the importance of the principles of energy efficiency, water conservation and other environmental issues by assisting as many learners as possible of all ages and backgrounds.

4.Encourage the use of renewable energy technologies.

5.Train science teachers for the Center.

Target group:

All level students of public and private schools.

The project was inaugurated at the 31-Jan-2017.
